(I forgot to take a photo of Michelle this morning. We both got so caught up in talking and spending some time together, so I drew her a picture of Cher to make up for it. Hey, she’s Cher, bitches. Do what she says)

I like the way it makes me feel. It makes you feel good to look at. It takes you to another place—regardless of where you are in work-mode or crazy kid zone—art takes you to another place.
If it doesn’t make me feel good, it makes me think. Takes you from where you are. Allows you to escape. And if it isn’t appealing Art-wise to me, I’ll do something else, like read or fall asleep.
Music in general—as far as an Art form goes—is probably the most important to me. It really is the thing that ifts my spirits and I have to have art around me. I’m not musically inclined—I don’t sing well, unless you ask my son. He thinks I sing great.
My favorite band is The Barenaked Ladies. They make me want to run or dance or just move. I certainly like all types of music. It was just after college, l was living in Canada, around ’92 and their first album—Gordon came out and my friend introduced me to them. I have been their loyal fan ever since.
My other favorite female vocalist is Cher. I just think she is great. I watched her when I was a kid. I wasn’t much older than Chastity. I watched The Sonny and Cher Show, I saw her in college when she did a comeback tour.
She has a great voice. She has an attitude. She does what she wants. And I love the movie Mask. I thought she did well. She was a mom that wouldn’t take any BS even though she was a mom that lived a hard life. I liked that.
My art appreciation doesn’t run deep, but I know what I like.
I don’t make enough time for Art. I race through my day and I wish I could make more time for it. I know what I like when I see it and I appreciate it, but I don’t make it. I find art in all of the things that come home from school. I am quite grateful for it.
