LITTLE BY LITTLE

building community through art

An exhibition at Scalehouse Gallery in downtown Bend, Oregon • September through October 2023

In 2023, I was given the amazing opportunity from Scalehouse Gallery in Bend, Oregon to display two decades worth of my work- past and present together in three rooms for two months. I filled one of the rooms with covers I created for The Source Weekly, The Earth Guardians, as well as other past pieces printed in a large format. One room was a timeline of art starting in 2003 and ending in 2023. The room held over 200 individual pieces of one-of-a kind drawings, paintings and writings. In the main room I installed The Bed- a piece I created to discuss the role of sleep in conjunction with our mental health. The room also held large prints of illustrations from my book “So…You Have a Little Brain Cloud: A Beginner’s Guide to Living with Mental Illness” as well as a group of wooden Brain Cloud sculptures. During the exhibition opening, I stayed in the bed and invited people to join me. I also held an Artist Talk from the bed.

I am very grateful to Scalehouse for giving me this opportunity. They are a non-profit that give artists like myself various opportunities to show their work. You can help ensure furture artists get seen by supporting their efforts with a donation here.

This exhibition would not have been possible without the generous support from The Starview Foundation, The Source Weekly, The Green Family, Northline and Spork.
